Inspired by way of tradition and how his mother made traditional Cypriot halloumi cheese, Michael Matsis set out to research the art of cheese making and perfecting the craft. Fast forward to 2000 and Zany Zeus was born. Initially, Michael focused on introducing traditional Cypriot halloumi cheese to the New Zealand market, a cheese that was relatively unknown at the time. It wasn’t long before the awards began rolling in. Zany Zeus cheeses, including halloumi and feta, became a well-loved and recognisable brand in the market.
For the past 20 years, Zany Zeus has been producing handcrafted, high-quality organic cheese, yoghurt, cultured products, milk, cream and ice cream to Kiwi fans and now their artisan range is available in your Foodbox.
