Easy Homemade Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 450g Toulouse sausage mince, I used L’Authentique New Zealand Charcuterie
  • 1 grated carrot
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 a red onion
  • oil for cooking
  • 2-4 sheets of prepared flakey puff pastry

Method

  1. Simply mix carrots, eggs, flour and sausage mince together
  2. Heat oil in the fry pan and fry finely diced red onion until browned
  3. Add mince mix and fry until mince has browned
  4. Cut pastry sheets into 10cm squares, lay mince in the centre and pinch up in the middle and sides (almost like a cornish pastry)
  5. Bake for 15 minutes at 180°C until pastry is golden brown and flakey
To turn it “kiwi” you can’t forget the tomato sauce
