Banana Custard

Ingredients
- 3 cups of milk
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 1/3 cup of flour
- pinch of salt
- 3 egg yolks
- 50g butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 3 bananas
Method
- In a large saucepan slowly heat milk until it starts to boil
- In another saucepan combine sugar, flour and salt
- Slowly mix heated milk into the sugar, flour and salt
- Stir continuously on medium heat until it thickens, approx 2-5 minutes
- In a small bowl whisk the egg yolks until slightly beaten
- Slowly stir egg yolks through heated milk mixture
- Blend bananas until smooth and mix in melted butter and vanilla
- Mix banana mixture through the heated milk. It is ready to be served if you like custard steaming hot on ice cream or with chocolate cake. Or,…
- Let mixture sit until it turns luke warm
- Pour into containers and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours to partially set
- Delicious served cold with whipped cream and cocoa sprinkled on top
